North American Power Group, Ltd. ("NAPG") is a privately held company which develops, owns and manages power generation facilities. NAPG is a full member of the Western Systems Coordinating Council, an approximate 100 member organization ensuring the reliability of power delivered within the 14 western states of the United States, Western Canada and Northern Mexico. NAPG’s subsidiary N AP Trading and Marketing is a licensed wholesale power marketer.
NAPG focuses on creating value for local communities through the use of non-commercial fuel materials. Projects under development include a fully permitted 250 megawatt waste coal, 50 megawatt methane fired combustion turbine, 5x80 megawatt combustion turbines and others.
Chinese Station
The Chinese Station Facility is an approximate 22 megawatt biomass fired facility near Jamestown, California. The primary fuel sources for the facility are urban wood waste, agricultural wood waste, sawmill residue, in-forest clearing and agricultural shells. Energy and capacity from the facility are sold to Pacific Gas & Electric Company under a Power Purchase Agreement which expires in 2017. Rio Bravo Fresno is a power production facility located approximately 10 miles south of Fresno, California on a 25-acre industrial site. Fresno produces 25 megawatts (net) of electricity while disposing of approximately 280,000 tons annually of forest brush and clearing, and other wood related products. Absent disposal of this biomass product in an environmentally responsible manner in which emission limitations are controlled, the material would either be placed in landfills or be disposed of through open field burning.
Rio Bravo Rocklin is a power production facility located approximately 4 miles northeast of Roseville, California on a 25-acre industrial site. Rocklin produces 25 megawatts (net) of biomass fired electricity while disposing of approximately 280,000 tons annually of biomass waste. This biomass waste principally consists of urban wood waste, in-forest brush and clearing and other wood related products. Absent disposal of this biomass product in an environmentally responsible manner in which emissions limitations are controlled, the material would either be placed in landfills or be disposed of through open field burning. Rocklin began commercial operations in the summer of 1989 and has since operated with an average capacity factor in excess of 92 percent. Capacity and energy from the project are sold to Pacific Gas & Electric Company under a thirty year contract.
Rio Bravo Fresno
Fresno began commercial operations in the summer of 1988, and has since operated with an average capacity factor in excess of 92 percent. Capacity and energy from the project are sold to Pacific Gas & Electric Company under a thirty year contract.
