DG Fairhaven Power LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of DG Energy Solutions, LLC is a 17.25 (net) facility that became operational on September 15, 1986. Electricity is supplied to Pacific Gas & Electric under a SO4 contract.
The plant utilizes over 250,000 tons of wood waste and chips from local sawmills annually. The residual ash is distributed to local dairy farmers as a soil amendment. Steam is produced by a 180,000 pound Riley Stoker fixed grate boiler which powers a Westinghouse turbine/generator. DG Fairhaven Power maintains a staff of twenty employees.
